Sama Shagaga

Sama Shagaga currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for Portland Community College Foundation and on the Board of Directors for the American Leadership Forum of Oregon. Since September 2022, Sama has held a position in Partnerships and Government Affairs at NW Natural. Previously, from February 2017 to September 2022, Sama was the Director of Fundraising Strategy and Senior Project Manager at Swaim Strategies, focusing on empowering nonprofits in their fundraising efforts. Sama also contributed as President of the Board of Directors for OREGON WALKS from June 2016 to July 2022, advocating for safe walking communities in Oregon. Other roles include Impact and Communications Coordinator at Community Vision, Inc., and Special Events and Community Engagement Manager at New Avenues for Youth. Earlier experience includes directing leadership programs for at-risk youth at the YMCA of Greater Seattle. Sama holds a degree in Political Science and Pre-Med from the University of Washington.
