Dimitrie Marinceu started their career as a Conferentiar at Universitatea 'Politehnica' Timisoara, where they combined design and research activities with teaching. During their time there, they published books, scientific papers, and manuals for students while focusing on research and design work for special equipment in EDM, Complex Electrical Erosion, and Laser Beam Manufacturing.
After leaving the university, Marinceu joined Wardrop as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer from 1999 to 2001.
Dimitrie then moved on to AECL, where they served as a Senior Mechanical Engineer from 2001 to 2011. In this role, they designed special nuclear equipment, such as Fuel Tube Machines and waste management equipment. Dimitrie also worked on the design of Spent Fuel Handling equipment and other dedicated nuclear tooling.
Currently, Marinceu is employed at NWMO as a Senior Mechanical Engineer-Design. Since 2011, they have been involved in the design and development of systems, structures, special equipment, robotics, and components for the safe transportation and long-term storage of Canada's used nuclear fuel. Dimitrie'sresponsibilities include performing transient thermal analyses to determine the optimum configuration of used nuclear fuel containers in deep geological repositories and carrying out explicit dynamics simulations for various components.
Dimitrie Marinceu holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universitatea "Politehnica" din Timișoara. Dimitrie also has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Special Equipment and Technologies from the same university. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Professional Engineering from the Professional Engineers Ontario in October 2000.
