Vera Yin

Associate Scientist - Environmental Data Management at NWMO

Vera Yin has a diverse work experience in both scientific and managerial roles. Vera started their career in 2016 as a GIS Analyst at the Shandong Institute of Geological Survey, where they worked for three months. In 2016, they also joined Sharetea as a Supervisor and held this position for three years until 2019. Vera then transitioned to the Nuclear Waste Management Organization, where they initially worked as a GIS Analyst in the Geoscience department for the entirety of 2018. From 2019 to 2022, they advanced to the role of Assistant Scientist, specializing in Environmental Assessment. In April 2022, Vera took on their current position as an Associate Scientist in Environmental Data Management.

Vera Yin began their education in 2013 at the University of Toronto, where they pursued an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Geoscience & Forest Conservation Science. Vera completed this program in 2017. In 2018, Vera attended George Brown College, where they focused on AutoCAD, though the degree name is not specified. Starting in 2020, they resumed their education at the University of Toronto Scarborough, working towards a Master of Environmental Science degree with a specialization in Terrestrial and Aquatic Systems.
