Patricia Marthone is a Medical University Doctor (MUDr, where Medical Doctor [MD] is a sub-title) and a Vice President with the Healthcare Union 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East (UHWE) in the Registered Nurses’ Division. Previously she worked on the administrative and management side of Medicine, including being the Director of Business Development and Operations for a series of Office Based Surgical Practices and Clinics in New York City; and was a lead in Research and Quality Assurance for the Palliative Care Department at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Marthone recognizes that when she left patient care to start the executive management track of medicine in her role as Regional Director of the Southeast of the United States for Exablate as the moment her path, and duties, in Healthcare changed forever. It became clear, that dedication to her community philanthropically, and politically, had to reach a greater anthesis with her voice on human rights -and patient- advocacies. Dr. Marthone’s voluntary community involvement spanned from her elected position as Vice President of the 22nd Community District Education Council; being appointed to the 42nd Assembly District’s State Committee Democratic Female’s Director of Health, Education, and Youth Services; and being a Member of the Board of Managers and Chair of the Programs Committee at the Flatbush YMCA.
