Rodny Carvajal has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Project Leader at the New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG) from 2008 to 2011. Rodny then worked as a Field Organizer at Left Labor Project from January 2011 to June 2011. Following that, they served as a Labor Relations Organizer at the International Brotherhood of the Teamsters Local 805 from August 2010 to July 2011. Carvajal then transitioned to a Program Manager role at Helen Keller International from August 2011 to July 2012. Rodny also worked as a Youth Development Specialist at the Police Athletic League from June 2011 to August 2012. Carvajal then joined Public Allies as a Project Coordinator from August 2012 to June 2013. Currently, Carvajal is working as the Senior Director of the Office of Neighborhood Safety at the NYC Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice from June 2021 onwards. Additionally, they briefly served as a Senior Public Safety Liaison at the NYC Mayor's Community Affairs Unit from May 2021 to October 2021.

Rodny Carvajal completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Government, Urban Studies, and Labor Studies at Queens College from 2006 to 2011. In 2010, they also obtained a Certificate in Labor and Industrial Relations from Cornell University ILR. Additionally, Rodny Carvajal has a certification in Industrial Labor and Relations from Cornell University in 2010.
