Robert Reed

Justice Robert R. Reed, born and raised in Compton, California, graduated from Stanford University with an A.B. in Political Science in 1981 and earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1984. Elected to the New York City Civil Court in 2007, Justice Reed has served in various judicial capacities, including as a Judge in Bronx County Civil Court and an Acting Justice of the Supreme Court, ultimately being elected to the Supreme Court in 2016 and assigned to the Commercial Division in 2020. Prior to the bench, Justice Reed practiced law for 23 years in both public and private sectors and has maintained active involvement in numerous legal and community organizations.
