Sanja V. has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. They have held various roles in prestigious institutions such as Uppsala University, where they currently work as an Assistant Professor. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Technology Innovation and Core Faculty at the New York Genome Center. They also held the position of Assistant Professor at Columbia University in the City of New York. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Wallenberg Fellow at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Sanja V. also gained valuable research experience as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Graduate Student at the Royal Institute of Technology. They additionally worked as a Trainee at the Board of European Students of Technology and as an Intern at Badel 1862.
Sanja V. began their education in 2006, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biotechnology from the University of Zagreb/Sveuciliste u Zagrebu. In the same year, they also obtained a Certificate of Proficiency in English as a Second Language from the University of Cambridge. Sanja then pursued their Master of Science degree in Molecular Biotechnology from KTH Royal Institute of Technology from 2009 to 2011. Following their master's degree, they went on to complete a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Genome Sciences/Genomics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, which they obtained between 2012 and 2017.
