Shirin Issa Bhaloo, PhD, is a seasoned scientist with extensive experience in functional genomics, precision medicine, and nanomedicine. Currently serving as Lead Scientist at the New York Genome Center since November 2022, Shirin previously held roles such as Senior Research Scientist and Senior Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Shirin's academic foundation includes a PhD in Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine from King's College London and a Research Fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. With earlier positions in quality assurance and pharmaceutical development, Shirin has contributed significantly to research across various institutions, focusing on cancer, hematopoiesis, and nanotechnology.
