Brian Weinert

Brian Weinert has a diverse work experience. Brian is currently working as the Principal Scientist & Discovery Project Lead at Nykode Therapeutics since May 2023. Prior to this, they served as a Principal Scientist at IO Biotech from June 2021 to March 2023. Brian also worked as a Senior Researcher & Co-Principal Investigator at The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability from November 2019 to May 2021.

Before that, Brian worked as a Proteomics Consultant in a self-employed capacity from March 2019 to November 2019. Brian also served as a Staff Scientist at Encodia, Inc. from July 2018 to February 2019.

Brian's previous roles include being an Associate Professor at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research, University of Copenhagen, from April 2015 to June 2018. Prior to that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the same institution from September 2009 to April 2015.

Before joining the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center, Brian worked as a Research Scientist at DanDrit Biotech A/S from August 2007 to March 2009. Brian also completed their PhD at UC Berkeley as a PhD student from September 2000 to November 2006.

Brian Weinert attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1991 to 1996, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Following this, they pursued further education at the University of California, Berkeley from 2000 to 2006, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in the same field of study, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
