David Trofa serves as the Head Team Physician at Columbia University since August 2023 and is also an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, a position held since August 2019. Prior to this, Trofa completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Shoulder/Elbow at OrthoCarolina from August 2018 to August 2019, following an Orthopaedic Residency at Columbia University Irving Medical Center from June 2013 to June 2018. Trofa's early career included coaching wrestling and soccer at various institutions and working as a research technician in a medical laboratory. Trofa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Columbia University (2003-2007) and a Doctor of Medicine with Research Honors from Tufts University School of Medicine (2009-2013).
