Rick Briant has an extensive work experience in Human Resources, starting as a General Manager at Rio Tinto in 2000. Rick later held roles as Vice President of People and Organization within the same company. Moving on, they worked as Director of People and Organisation at Bis Industries, followed by a position as Director-Owner Operator at Sky Pics and Flics. Rick then transitioned to Fortescue Metals Group as a Principal People Adviser. Currently, Rick is a part of Nyrstar, where they have served as Human Resources Manager, Regional Head of Human Resources for Australia, and is currently the Global Head of Human Resources.
Rick Briant completed a Bcom. degree in IR/Organisational Behaviour at Griffith University from 1991 to 1993. In 2014, they obtained certification as a Remote Piloted Aircraft pilot from Interspacial Aviation Services and Civil Aviation Safety Authority. Rick is currently pursuing a course in People Analytics Transforming Business Strategy at Cambridge Judge Business School, expected to finish in 2022. Rick also participated in the Rio Tinto Business Development Program at AGSM @ UNSW Business School.
