Joe Canovas

Joseph Canovas is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in labor relations and advocacy. Currently serving as Special Counsel and Director of Special Projects at the New York State AFL-CIO since March 2012, Joseph previously held the position of Associate General Counsel at 32BJ SEIU from August 2009 to March 2012. Earlier in the career, Joseph worked as a Law Fellow at AFL-CIO from September 2008 to August 2009. Joseph earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from St. John's University School of Law in 2008 and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from St. John's University in 2005.
