John Lanz

John Lanz is an Environmental Permitting Manager at New York State Electric & Gas, with a diverse background in environmental assessments and management. Previously, they served as a Program Manager and Environmental Geologist at LaBella Associates, D.P.C., and as an Environmental Technician at Ravi Engineering & Land Surveying, P.C., where they conducted soil and groundwater sampling and fulfilled environmental assessments. Prior to that, they held roles in retail and laboratory supervision during their studies at Alfred University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies. John’s early experience also includes working as a Grounds Keeper at St. Vincent de Paul and in various roles at Kenai Cache Outfitters, where their passion for fishing and wildlife conservation flourished.
