David Halbfinger

David Halbfinger is a highly experienced political journalist currently serving as the Political Editor at The New York Times since July 2021. Halbfinger has held various significant positions at The New York Times from March 1997 to January 2021, including Jerusalem Bureau Chief, Deputy National Editor, and Presidential Campaign Editor, among others. Prior to this, Halbfinger worked as a reporter for Boston Globe Media and New York Newsday, and began a career in journalism at the Philadelphia Business Journal. Halbfinger holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Yale University, earned between 1986 and 1990.
