Jack Ewing

Jack Ewing is an experienced business reporter currently working for The New York Times since January 2010, where the focus is on the transition of the auto industry to electric vehicles. Ewing previously served as the European Economics Correspondent based in Frankfurt, concentrating on Germany and other areas within the European Union and Turkey. Prior to joining The New York Times, Ewing worked at BusinessWeek magazine from February 1999 to December 2009, first as a correspondent and later as the European Regional Editor, and at Bloomberg News from September 1995 to January 1999 as a reporter and editor managing a staff of approximately 20 reporters. Early career experience includes reporting on courts and politics for the Hartford Courant from 1984 to 1994, editorial roles at North Shore Weeklies and the Santa Fe Reporter, and a copywriting position at BBDO. Ewing holds a Master's degree in History from Trinity College-Hartford and a B.A. in Communication and Media Studies from Hampshire College.
