Jacob Templin is an accomplished media professional with extensive experience in video journalism and education. Currently serving as Senior Producer and International Reporter Video at The New York Times since September 2025, Jacob manages teams of video journalists and oversees international coverage. Additionally, since January 2013, Jacob has been teaching "Visual Storytelling" as an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. Previous roles include Head of Video at the Thomson Reuters Foundation and Academic Coordinator at the International Center for Journalists. Jacob has also worked at The New York Times in various producer roles, as well as at Quartz, NationSwell, and TIME. Jacob holds a Master’s degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cinematography and Film/Video Production from York University.
