Michael Slackman

Michael Slackman is an accomplished journalist currently serving as the Assistant Managing Editor for News at The New York Times since May 2014, where responsibilities include overseeing teams that produce top stories and ensuring high editorial standards. Previously, Michael held several key positions at The New York Times, including International Editor and Berlin Bureau Chief, as well as roles as Cairo Bureau Chief and Metro Desk Reporter. Prior experience includes serving as Cairo Bureau Chief at the Los Angeles Times and Moscow Bureau Chief at Newsday. Michael Slackman is an alumnus of Northeastern University.
