Scott Dance

Scott Dance is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in environmental and climate reporting. Currently serving as a climate adaptation correspondent for The New York Times since September 2025, Scott previously held the role of global weather reporter at The Washington Post from September 2022 to September 2025. Notably, Scott worked as an environment reporter at The Baltimore Sun from February 2012 to September 2022, where impactful stories included exposing sewage backups in Baltimore and highlighting regulatory loopholes in the medical field. Earlier career milestones include serving as senior reporter and projects editor at the Baltimore Business Journal and reporting for McClatchy Media. Scott holds an Abrams Nieman Fellowship in Local Investigative Journalism from Harvard University and advanced degrees in Public Policy and Journalism from the University of Maryland.
