Christopher Gaffney

Christopher Gaffney is a Clinical Associate Professor at New York University and serves as the Director of ALTR.earth and the Travel and Tourism Research Collaboratory. Gaffney previously held the position of Senior Researcher at the University of Zurich and worked as a Visiting Professor at Universidade Federal Fluminense, where research focused on the urban and social impacts of mega-events in Rio de Janeiro. Gaffney's career also includes founding Six Dimensions Sports Consulting, a firm dedicated to enhancing team performance in sports organizations, and working as a freelance journalist and researcher on significant global events. Academic experience extends to lecturing at the University of North Carolina and earning a PhD in Geography from The University of Texas at Austin. Additional educational background includes an M.S. in Geography from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a BA in philosophy and history from Trinity University.
