Ellen Horne

Ellen Horne is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in audio production and education. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at New York University, Ellen directs the Podcasting and Audio Reportage concentration for the journalism Master of Arts Program. As the founder of Story Mechanics since January 2019, Ellen specializes in producing audio podcasts. Prior to this, Ellen was the Executive Producer of Original Content at Audible, Inc., where notable projects included Ponzi Supernova and Light Falls: Space, Time, and an Obsession of Einstein. Ellen also held significant roles at WNYC Radio as the Senior Director of National Production and Executive Producer of Radiolab, and earlier positions included Development Director at the Coral Reef Alliance and Manager at Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. Ellen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater and Theology from Cornell College.
