Michael M. Weinstein is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Writing Program at New York University's Tandon School of Engineering since August 2025. Prior to this role, Michael served as an Assistant Professor at Earlham College from May 2022 to August 2025 and worked as an Educational Consultant at ESM Prep College MatchPoint from June 2021 to June 2022. Michael has editorial experience as an Assistant Editor for the Michigan Quarterly Review from September 2018 to August 2021 and provided application and essay consulting as an Admissions Coach for School Searchers. Additionally, Michael developed curricula and instructed literature and writing for gifted Chinese students at One Step Ahead from April 2020 to June 2021. As a Helen Zell Creative Writing Fellow, Michael completed an MFA at the University of Michigan while also holding lecturing positions at Yale University and teaching fellowships and tutoring roles at Harvard University. Michael earned a PhD in English Literature from Harvard University and holds an MA in English Literature and a BA in English/Creative Writing and Russian from Northwestern University.
