Piergiorgio Percipalle

Piergiorgio Percipalle serves as the Biology Program Head and Associate Dean of Science for Research and Graduate Programs, as well as a Full Professor of Biology at New York University Abu Dhabi since September 2015. Research interests include chromatin regulation, transcriptional control of gene expression, genome organization, RNA biogenesis, and regenerative medicine. Additionally, Piergiorgio Percipalle holds the position of Global Network Professor of Biology at New York University since September 2021 and previously served as a Guest Professor at Stockholm University from January 2016 to December 2022. A former Associate Professor of Cell Biology at Karolinska Institutet, significant research contributions have been made across various roles held at several esteemed institutions. Piergiorgio Percipalle has been awarded funding from notable organizations such as the Swedish Research Council and the Swedish Cancer Society, with a robust background in postdoctoral research involving molecular mechanisms of nucleocytoplasmic transport. Education includes a PhD in Molecular Genetics from Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati in Italy.
