Stephan Clark has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Contracts Administrator at Telecom New Zealand in 2004. Stephan then worked as a Portfolio Administrator and Legal Adviser at Kiwi Wealth from 2006 to 2008. After that, they served as a Legal Adviser at Kiwi Wealth from 2009 to 2010. Stephan then worked as an Associate at Watson, Farley & Williams from 2010 to 2011. From 2011 to 2014, Stephan worked at Kiwi Wealth as a Senior Advisor and Legal Counsel, where they led various projects related to financial services legal matters. Stephan then joined Goldman Sachs as the Vice President of Regional Regulatory Affairs, overseeing compliance and providing regulatory advice. In 2016, Stephan became the Head of Risk and Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer at NZ Funds. Stephan Clark began their education in 2001 by pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree at Victoria University of Wellington. Stephan completed this degree in 2004. In 2005, Stephan Clark continued their education at the same university and obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree, which they completed in 2009.

During their studies, Stephan Clark participated in two exchange programs. In 2008, they attended Bucerius Law School as part of their LL.B. degree program. Additionally, they had a brief exchange program at Uppsala University in the same year.

Furthermore, in 2021, Stephan Clark enrolled in the Stanford University Graduate School of Business to pursue an Executive Education in the LEAD Business Programme. Stephan completed this program in 2022.
