Steve O'Connor

Steve O'Connor has extensive experience in leadership and advisory roles within various sectors. Currently serving as Director at Mevo and NZ Growth Capital Partners since late 2023, O'Connor also contributes as a member of the Wellington School of Business and Government Advisory Board at Victoria University of Wellington. O'Connor has been an advisor, mentor, and investor with Rocketing Ventures since 2013, focusing on born-global startups, mature companies, and business turnarounds. As the founder and former CEO of Flick Electric Co, a pioneering independent electricity retailer, and Lightning Lab, an entrepreneurial acceleration program, O'Connor has consistently aimed to drive innovation and growth. Previous roles include positions at Creative HQ, Arc Innovations, Meridian Energy, and Marketview Limited. O'Connor holds a BSc and BCA in Marketing/Management from Victoria University of Wellington and completed the Company Directors Certificate at the Institute of Directors in 2010.
