Dr. Nessa Lynch currently holds the position of Matheson Lecturer in Law, Innovation and Technology at University College Cork, where research and teaching focus on law and technology, particularly in areas such as biometric surveillance and technology's impact on children. Concurrently, Dr. Lynch serves as a member of the Policing and Community Safety Authority in Ireland, overseeing An Garda Síochána's performance. Additionally, Dr. Lynch contributes to the New Zealand Police as a member of the Expert Panel on Emergent Technologies and as Director in the People, Leadership, and Culture group, focusing on training. Dr. Lynch is also a research fellow and associate professor at Victoria University of Wellington, actively engaged in youth justice and children's rights. Previous roles include academic representation on the Youth Court Education Committee and membership in various advisory groups, including the Data Ethics Advisory Group and the Law Commission of New Zealand. Educational qualifications include a PhD from the University of Otago and both LLM and BCL degrees from University College Cork.
