John Payne

John Payne has extensive experience in tax management, having served in various high-level roles throughout a distinguished career. Currently, as Head of Tax at the NZ Super Fund since 2008, John oversees tax affairs for a highly diversified sovereign wealth fund aimed at pre-funding New Zealand's Superannuation pension. Prior to this role, John operated a consulting company, JPB Corporate Tax Solutions Limited, providing tax services to major clients including Fonterra and Vodafone. John's earlier experience includes senior positions at Carter Holt Harvey, Brierley Investments Limited, and Ernst & Young, where responsibilities ranged from managing tax affairs for large corporate groups to leading teams on tax consulting projects. John holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Commerce from the University of Auckland.
