Jane Thompson

Jane Thompson is an experienced communications and engagement professional with a diverse background in both the public and private sectors. Currently serving as Principal Advisor at Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency since August 2018, Jane transitioned from a part-time role to full-time responsibilities. As a business owner at Pegasus Communications Ltd since October 2017, Jane specializes in storytelling and photography. Previous roles include Digital Editor at NZ Horse & Pony Magazine and extensive freelance work in social media, communications, and journalism within the equestrian field. Jane's earlier career also features a significant tenure as General Manager at SPCA Auckland, where leadership led to growth and service expansion, as well as experiences in HR and marketing at Harris Meats. With educational qualifications from Massey University, including a Bachelor of Arts with honors and a post-graduate diploma in Communication Management, Jane possesses a strong foundation in business psychology and communication.
