Sulo Shanmuganathan

Sulo Shanmuganathan is a highly experienced engineering professional with a significant background in structural engineering and technical governance. Currently serving as the Chief Engineer at Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency since June 2021, Sulo has previously held the position of Technical Director at Holmes Consulting from July 2017 to June 2021 and worked as an Independent Consultant prior to that. Sulo's expertise includes providing technical advice as a Technical Advisor at Opus International Consultants and serving as Chief Technical Officer at Opus International Consultants Limited from April 2011 to March 2015. Sulo holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Structural Engineering from Nottingham Trent University, a Master of Science (MSc) in Structural Engineering from the University of Dundee, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering from the University of Peradeniya.
