Johnny Schmitt is an experienced event management professional with a notable background in sports organizations. Currently serving as Event Manager for New Zealand Cricket since October 2024, Johnny previously held multiple roles at Hurricanes from May 2018 to July 2024, including Events & Match Operations Manager and Acting Comms Manager. Additionally, Johnny managed match operations for Wellington Rugby during the same timeframe. Noteworthy positions also include Match Commissioner for A-Leagues from October 2022 to February 2023 and Contract Events Manager for Wellington Phoenix Football Club in April 2022. Johnny has spent several years with Wellington Phoenix Football Club in various capacities, including Event Operations Manager and A-League Men’s Team Manager.
