Kip Hanna

Kip Hanna has a diverse and extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Kip is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of NZHL since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Westpac from 2017 to 2022, where they held multiple positions including Chief Executive for Westpac Banking Corporation Fiji, Chair of the Board for Westpac PNG Ltd, and Regional Head Pacific. In these roles, Kip led and managed banking operations, developed strategies, built relationships with stakeholders, and ensured compliance and risk management.

Before joining Westpac, Kip worked at ANZ from 2005 to 2016, where they served as Head of International Business Development, Director of the Asia Pacific Desk, Executive Advisor for Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank, Senior Manager for Commercial Lending Services, Senior Relationship Manager for Corporate Banking, and Relationship Manager for Corporate Banking. Kip was responsible for various aspects of international business, strategic advice, financial transactions, and customer relationship management.

Earlier in their career, Kip worked at Grant Thornton New Zealand Ltd as a Senior Associate in Corporate Finance, at Merrill Lynch as an Assistant Vice President Finance, at St George Bank as a Senior Analyst in Finance, and at Deloitte New Zealand as a Senior Consultant. In these roles, they gained experience in M&A transactions, financial reporting, analysis, and advisory services.

Kip Hanna has a diverse education history. Kip holds a Chartered Accountant degree from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Additionally, they pursued a combined Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Auckland, majoring in Accounting, Economics, and Geography. Kip also obtained a Certificate of Executive Leadership from UNSW, specialized in Organizational studies. In terms of certifications, they completed the Strategic Leadership Programme from the Institute for Strategic Leadership in September 2023.
