Nunzia Pirro

Nunzia Pirro is a highly experienced scientific researcher with a strong focus on oceanography and environmental fluid dynamics. Currently, Nunzia works at OGS as a Scientific Researcher while also serving as a Postdoctoral Scientist at the University of Notre Dame, where research involves the impacts of ocean circulation and intraseasonal oscillations on the Indian Ocean's monsoon dynamics. Previous roles include positions at the European Space Agency and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where satellite data assimilation and climate modeling techniques were developed. Nunzia's leadership and outreach efforts include peer-reviewing for Scientific Reports and serving as outreach chair for the Graduate Society of Women Engineers. Nunzia holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Fluid Dynamics-Oceanography from the University of Notre Dame and a degree in Civil Engineering from Università degli Studi di Salerno.
