Karen Heilman

Karen Heilman has extensive experience in education and fitness instruction. Currently serving as a High School Instructional Program Facilitator for Chatham County Schools since September 2019, Karen supports high schools with the implementation of standards and instructional best practices to enhance student achievement. Previously, Karen held roles such as English Department Chair and AVID Elective Teacher at Chatham County Schools and has been involved in part-time fitness instruction at O2 Fitness Club, FEARRINGTON SWIM & CROQUET CLUB INC, and Heritage Hills Recreation Club since 2010. With a background in coaching as an assistant for the Durham Hurricanes Girls Basketball team, Karen also has foundational experience as a high school English teacher and a retail manager. Karen's educational qualifications include a B.A. in Human Resource Management from Gettysburg College, an M.Ed. in Secondary English Education from Arcadia University, and a certification in Academically and Intellectually Gifted education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
