Shyam Sharma

Shyam Sharma has extensive experience in the renewable energy industry, holding various leadership positions. From 2020 to the present, they have been the Chief Financial Officer at O2 Power, a renewable energy platform in India. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Financial Officer & Executive Director at Amp Energy India from 2016 to 2020. Shyam also held the position of Head of Finance at Azure Power from 2013 to 2016. Before that, they were the Head of Finance and Administration at Sembcorp Green Infra Limited from 2009 to 2013. Additionally, they held leadership roles in finance and administration at Bilfinger Berger Constructions (India) Private Ltd. and Hatch Associates India Pvt. Ltd. from 2008 to 2009. Their early career includes serving as the Head of Finance & Company Secretary at SHARP BUSINESS SYSTEMS (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED from 2001 to 2007.

Shyam Sharma has a diverse education history with a focus on accounts, tax, finance, costing, and company law. Shyam began their educational journey by completing their 12th standard at S.D Public School from 1986 to 1993, specializing in commerce.

In 1993, Shyam enrolled in Delhi University and pursued a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, specializing in accounts, commerce, tax, and company law, which they completed in 1996. During this time, they also pursued professional qualifications in accounting. From 1995 to 1998, Shyam attended The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, working towards a Chartered Accountant degree. Here, they focused on accounts, tax, finance, costing, and company law.

Continuing their education, Shyam studied at The Institute of Company Secretaries of India from 1998 to 2001, focusing on company law, accounting, and taxation to earn a C.S degree. Additionally, they attended the Institute of Cost Accountants of India from 1996 to 2000 and completed a program in Cost & Management Accounting, emphasizing costing, management accounting, and tax.

In terms of additional certifications, Shyam completed a US GAAP Training program at KPMG India in 2016, although the month of completion is not specified. Shyam also attended the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, for an MDP in Inspired Leadership, which they obtained in December 2012.
