Oak Hill School
John Hawkins is an experienced educator and leader in the field of science education, currently serving as the Lower School Science teacher and science department chair at Oak Hill School since June 2020. As the owner and content expert of Do That Science! since September 2019, John specializes in creating engaging content that connects scientific concepts to everyday life. Prior to these roles, John managed a family entertainment center, directed educational programming at the Discovery Center at Murfree Spring, and held various positions at the Adventure Science Center, including Interim Director of Education and grant writing for youth programs. John holds a Master of Science in Science Education from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Science in Recreation & Leisure Services from Middle Tennessee State University.

Oak Hill School is a coeducational, nondenominational, independent school serving approximately 500 students in PreK through sixth grade.
