Catherine Herman Aker has a diverse work experience in the field of communications and philanthropy. Catherine started their career as a Sports Information Assistant at the University of Arizona Athletic Media Relations in 1997. Catherine then worked at the Arizona Diamondbacks in various roles, including Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing Communications Manager. In 2009, Catherine became the President of CHA Public Relations and held that position until 2016. During this time, they also founded and chaired Give Together, a movement focused on inspiring and empowering families to give back. Since 2016, Catherine has been associated with the Oakland Athletics, initially serving as the Director of Corporate Communications and later becoming the Vice President of Communications and Community Relations. In 2021, they were promoted to Vice President of Marketing, Communications, and Community.

Catherine Herman Aker completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Arizona. Catherine attended the university from 1997 to 2001. Later, in 2007 and 2008, they pursued an MBA from the University of Arizona - Eller College of Management.
