Michael Crum

Michael Crum serves as a Lecturer/Special Lecturer in Political Science at Oakland University since December 2022 and has been the Manager of the Safety Division for Oakland County, Michigan Government since May 2021. Prior to these roles, Michael held various positions at Oakland University, including Emergency Manager from November 2017 to May 2021, and worked at the Berkley Department of Public Safety from August 1998 to November 2017, where responsibilities included Deputy Chief, Lieutenant, Sergeant, and Public Safety Officer. Michael's career began at the Wayne County Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff from January 1997 to August 1998. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Oakland University, a Master’s Degree in Emergency Management & Homeland Security from Eastern Michigan University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Safety Administration from Siena Heights University, and an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Oakland Community College.
