Matt Fondy has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Professional Soccer Player for various football clubs such as Louisville City FC, Jacksonville Armada FC, and North Carolina Football Club. Matt also worked as a Refugee Outreach Program Director for the United States Committee on Refugees and Immigrants, where they organized and coached activities for teenagers. Matt Fondy earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Management and Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Matt then pursued further education and obtained a Master's degree in International/Global Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, where they attended from 2018 to 2019.
