Oakland Literacy Coalition
The Oakland Literacy Coalition works to meet the literacy needs in our city, particularly for our youngest readers, by improving the capacity and increasing the impact of Oakland's literacy providers. The Coalition fulfills its mission by bringing providers and stakeholders together to learn, collaborate, and champion literacy in the community. The Coalition leads the Oakland Reads campaign aimed at one of the most important predictors of school success and high school graduation: reading achievement by the end of third grade. Oakland Reads combines the strength of Oakland families, schools, and community partners all committed to the reading success of the city’s youngest learners.
