Oakland Symphony
Rachel Kim, Ed.D., currently serves as the Director of Education and Social Impact for the Oakland Symphony, beginning in June 2024. A co-founder and pianist of the award-winning Curium Trio since 2017, Rachel specializes in the works of women composers and collaborates with leading arts organizations in Northern California. Previously, Rachel was a music teacher at the Teachers College Community School, delivering a culturally responsive curriculum, and an applied music instructor at Teachers College, Columbia University, where individualized lesson plans were tailored for graduate students. Rachel has a strong background in music education, highlighted by award-winning teaching at The Branson School and experience at various music institutions, including staff accompaniment at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Rachel holds a Doctor of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, alongside multiple degrees in music performance and education from respected institutions.
