George Avalos is an experienced journalist with a focus on business reporting. Avalos has been serving as a Business Reporter for the San Jose Mercury News since November 2011 and has a long-standing role at Contra Costa Times and Oakland Tribune that began in 1990. Previously, Avalos worked as a Reporter for the San Jose Silicon Valley Business Journal from 1985 to 1987. Education was received at San Francisco State University from 1971 to 1975.
