Amie Lamontagne Akuma is an experienced educational leader currently serving as Principal at Oakland Unified School District since June 2016. Prior roles include participation in the Aspiring Principals Program at New Leaders Org and teaching positions at Aspire Public Schools and Capitol Collegiate Academy, where rigorous curriculum development and implementation were key responsibilities. Amie designed integrated instructional units based on Common Core standards and achieved notable student success in literacy programs. With additional experience as a teacher in the Osborn School District and as a Corps Member with Teach For America, Amie possesses a strong background in curriculum design and instructional leadership. Amie holds a B.S. with dual majors in Liberal Studies and Spanish from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
