Sarah Altschul

Sarah Altschul has extensive experience in education, currently serving as Lead Mentor for New Teacher Support & Development at Oakland Unified School District since September 2022 and as an Instructor at Alder Graduate School of Education since July 2022. Previous roles include Humanities Pathway Lead and Field Supervisor at University of California, Berkeley, where Sarah taught multiple courses from August 2019 to July 2022. Other notable positions include Program Associate at Facing History and Ourselves and National Equity Project Fellow at the National Equity Project. Sarah's early career involved teaching roles ranging from Literacy Coach at Elmhurst United Middle School to English Language Arts Teacher at San Lorenzo High School. Sarah earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from the University of Michigan and a Master's in Education from the University of California, Berkeley.
