Sarah Hosch

Sarah Hosch currently serves as the Faculty Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and as the President of the Sigma Xi Oakland University Chapter, where responsibilities include organizing speaker events and supporting student scientific research. With a strong background in academia, Sarah has utilized evidence-based practices to enhance student success through active learning and critical thinking, while teaching courses in biology, biochemistry, physiology, and scientific communication. Previous experience includes a role as Special Lecturer at Oakland University and a Post-doctoral Fellow at UCSD, where research focused on inflammation mechanisms and insulin resistance. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics from the University of Minnesota and a BS in Biochemistry from Alma College.
