Megan Finnerty

Megan Finnerty is a seasoned communications professional currently serving as the Senior Director of Editorial at the Obama Foundation since August 2025, where responsibilities include storytelling that aligns with the Foundation's mission and values. As the founder of Megan M. Finnerty Consulting since January 2015, Megan focuses on narrative-driven movements. Previous roles include Chief of Strategy and Engagement at Houston Landing from May 2023 to May 2025, where efforts centered on newsroom culture and community engagement, and Show Curator for Arizona PBS, responsible for curating a live storytelling show. As Creative Director and Editor-in-Chief at Vox Media from March 2022 to January 2023, Megan emphasized empathy-driven storytelling across various mediums. Educational credentials include a Sulzberger Fellowship in Business Storytelling and Strategic Consulting from Columbia University, and completion of the Leadership Academy for Women in Media at the Poynter Institute.
