Paul Carter is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in educational support and student advocacy. Currently serving as an Associate in Network Learning at the Obama Foundation since July 2025, Paul Carter previously held the role of Assistant Director at the Black Resource Center at California State University, Long Beach from September 2022 to July 2025. Prior experience includes working as the Coordinator of the Pan-African Student Resource Center at California State University-Los Angeles and as an Academic & Wellness Manager at Community Coalition, where Paul Carter developed multi-year strategies to assist low-income, first-generation, Black and Latinx students. Additionally, Paul Carter served as Head Mentor for the Office of Black Student Affairs at The Claremont Colleges Services, and gained early experience through roles with Break the Cycle and EXPLO. Paul Carter holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Pomona College, earned in 2016.
