Sheldon Blackman

Northeast Regional Director at OBAP

Sheldon Blackman was born in Georgetown, Guyana. It was always a dream of his to become an airline pilot. Growing up in East Orange, NJ his dreams were always nourished and kept alive by his parents and sisters. That dream became a reality in 2000, when he took his first flight in a Cessna-172 at Caldwell airport in Fairfield, NJ. It was then he applied and got accepted into the undergraduates bachelors degree program at Daniel Webster College. After completing his degree he became a flight instructor at Daniel Webster while earning his MBA.

OBAP has allowed Sheldon to meet various people in the aviation industry who have mentored and molded him into the aviation professional he is today. He also volunteers his time with OBAP to give back to the organization that gave so much to him.

Sheldon is currently a First Officer with Alaska Airlines on the Airbus aircraft. He currently resides in New York with his wife and two children. He credits his wife and kids for always being supportive of his career path and pushing him to be his best.
