Valerie Manning attended Princeton University, where they earned a BSE in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Valerie then attended Stanford University, where they earned an MS in Aeronautics and Astronautics, followed by a Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics. Valerie has also received certification from the EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency as a Flight Instructor - FI (A) / CFI - Valid For Night Instruction, as well as certification from the EASA - European Aviation Safety Agency as an EASA Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL) - frozen. Additionally, they have received certification from the EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency as an A320 Type Rating and as an EASA CPL ME-IR, JOC, MCC, Advanced UPRT.
