Rich Page

Rich Page has a diverse range of work experience in the legal and taxation field. Rich currently works as the Tax Director and Assistant General Counsel at Obra Capital since May 2023. Prior to this, they had a long tenure at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, where they started as an Associate in April 2014 and worked their way up to Counsel (Senior Associate) until May 2023. At Akin Gump, they specialized in tax counsel for private equity funds and hedge funds, focusing on fund formation, strategic planning, and tax compliance. Rich was also involved in various legal documents related to these funds.

Before joining Akin Gump, Rich worked as a Senior M&A Tax Associate at EY (Ernst & Young) from December 2013 to April 2014. Rich provided tax advice and due diligence for private-equity firms and hedge funds in M&A transactions.

From January 2013 to December 2013, they worked at Deloitte as a Senior M&A Tax Consultant. Rich later became part of Deloitte's Post-Merger Integration (PMI) group, where they primarily focused on corporate restructuring, divestiture legal transitions, and tax planning for recently merged corporations.

Rich started their career at Deloitte as a Tax Consultant from October 2011 to January 2013. During this time, they researched and provided analysis on tax implications for major financial institutions.

Rich also gained legal experience as a Summer Associate at Christovich & Kearney LLP in 2009 and at Arkin Kaplan Rice LLP in 2008, where they assisted in legal research and deposition preparation.

Additionally, Rich worked as a Legal Research Assistant at Tulane University Law School from January 2008 to April 2008.

Rich Page has a diverse education history, with a focus on law, taxation, finance, and public finance. Rich attended Northern Highlands Regional High School in Bergen County, NJ from 1997 to 2001. Following that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Tulane University in 2004. In 2006, they pursued a joint JD/MBA program at Tulane University, completing their Juris Doctor degree from Tulane University Law School and a Master of Business Administration degree from Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business. In 2010, Rich Page furthered their education at the University of Chicago, where they obtained a Master of Public Policy degree with a specialization in Public Finance. The same year, they attended Georgetown University Law Center and completed a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Taxation. Additionally, they hold certifications as a member of the Florida Bar, as a Microsoft Excel Certified Application Specialist, as a member of the New York Bar with an impressive Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) score of approximately top 2%, and as a member of the United States Tax Court.
