David Zhang

David Zhang is a Codepoint Fellow at Sutter Hill Ventures, engaging in a one-year rotational program across two portfolio companies: Luminary Cloud and Observe Inc. Serving as a Software Engineer at Observe Inc. since February 2024 and previously at Luminary Cloud from August 2023 to February 2024, David has cultivated extensive software engineering experience. Prior to this, David was the Head Teaching Assistant for the CS 162 course at UC Berkeley's Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences department, where contributions included roles as a Teaching Assistant and Reader. David's research experience includes work as an Undergraduate Researcher at Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research, presenting findings at the NeurIPS HILL Workshop 2022. Past roles also include internships in trading at Susquehanna International Group and software engineering at Two Sigma, alongside substantial leadership in programming for Amador Valley Robotics and a research internship at NASA Ames Research Center. David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, earned in 2023.
