Lekan Olawoye has a diverse work experience spanning across various organizations. Lekan is the Founder & CEO of OBSIDI, where they established the Black Professionals in Tech Network (BPTN) in Canada and the Eastern US. BPTN connects Black technical and business professionals with senior executive sponsorship, industry training, and a supportive peer network.
Lekan also founded TALENT X, a company focused on connecting high-quality tech talent with Canada's tech ecosystem. Prior to this, they worked at MaRS Discovery District as Lead Executive- Talent Development, where they emphasized the importance of nurturing unconventional thinking and continuous learning for top talent.
Lekan served as the Executive Director at For Youth Initiative in Toronto, where they played a crucial role in leading the organization. Lekan also worked with the Ontario government as the Chair of the Premier's Council on Youth Opportunities, engaging with youth and community partners to improve government programs and services for the youth.
Earlier in their career, Lekan held roles at Tropicana Community Services and Toronto Community Housing, focusing on youth engagement and economic opportunities.

Lekan Olawoye completed a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree at Ryerson University from 2003 to 2007. Later, in 2011, they pursued a Masters in Social Work (MSW) specializing in Non-Profit Management at the University of Toronto, which was completed in 2012. Additionally, they participated in the Governor General's Canadian Leadership Conference in 2012 and was a DiverseCity Fellow in 2011, both focused on leadership development.
